SpiceJet to receive first Boeing Max plane in a few days

SpiceJet will receive the first of the 205 Boeing Max planes that it had ordered last year, in a few days, the Chairman and Managing Director of the airline, Ajay Singh, said today.

Speaking at RE-INVEST, a conference-cum-expo event of the renewable energy industry, organised here by the Government of India, he said the Boeing Max aircraft consumes 15 per cent less fuel.

Ajay Singh later told journalists that in addition to the 189-seater Boeings, SpiceJet would also buy more aircraft from Bombardier. The first Boeing Max will be deployed in the Hyderabad-Bangkok route.

He said that SpiceJet would soon start serving the Delhi-Packyong route, connecting the national capital to the country's newest airport, in Sikkim. It has already announced that it will serve the Guwahati-Packyong segment.
