Taxi aggregator to drive into Mangaluru airport

Mangaluru: In another three weeks, passengers arriving at and departing from the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) will be able to use services of cab aggregator.
With this the monopoly of private taxis at the airport, which had so far succeeded in keeping aggregators out of the airport premises, is expected to come to an end.

An official from MIA on condition of anonymity told TOI that Ola is the only aggregator that placed bids and subsequently won the tender. “We had called for an open tender for cab aggregator services in June. Ola was the only aggregator that came forward. Most likely, it will begin services in a maximum of 20 days,” the official said.

The airport authority has sanctioned a counter for Ola near the prepaid taxi counter at the arrival area of the airport. The cabs will be allotted space in the parking lot, which will be the pickup and drop point.
