Angry at not finding his seat ‘comfortable’, a passenger on board a Patna-bound SpiceJet flight (SG-379) from Pune ripped off the cushion of his seat minutes before take-off on Wednesday afternoon.
No action was taken against him as the crew did not want to delay the flight. The engineering team put the cushion back and the flight took off on time at 1.05pm. The passenger was offered another seat but he declined, a source in the airline said.
The passenger, identified as Nitesh Kumar, later posted the photos of the ripped seat on Twitter. “This is the flight condition of SpiceJet’s Pune to Patna flight,” he tweeted, tagging the airline’s twitter handle as well as that of the civil aviation minister, Suresh Prabhu
