Jaipur: Kishangarh airport is set to become the second busiest airport in Rajasthan within a year of its operations. The airport is set to have flight operations at six new destinations like Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Mumbai and Surat soon. Rajasthan has a total of five airports the busiest being Jaipur followed by Udaipur and Jodhpur. Jaisalmer has just started with two flight operations at present.
Ashok Kapoor, airport director of Kishangarh Airport says that under the Udaan scheme, the AAI, Kishangarh has invited proposals from the airlines in these sectors. “As the response of our Delhi flight is phenomenal, we are very positive to get the some more links in the coming months. Some airlines are very positive about this sector considering its potential and its outreach,” said Kapoor. Few airlines are expected to come for inspection in the January.
The airport at present is operating single flight to Delhi and is running 100% occupancy. The fare of Delhi Jaipur flight crossed Rs 60,000 on Friday. Udaan is a government of India scheme made air travel accessible for the common man. Under the scheme, government provides several benefits to the airline to establish the market.
