Mangaluru: ir India will restart its Mumbai-Mangaluru-Mumbai flights from October 1. This follows instruction given by union civil aviation minister Suresh P Prabhu following a representation given by Dakshina Kannada MP who called on Prabhu in New Delhi. Air India had cancelled IC 1680 Mangaluru-Mumbai and IC 1679 Mumbai-Mangaluru flights starting July 12 up to September 30, ostensibly for Haj operations.
Nalin pointed to the minister that both Mumbai and Mangaluru are fast growing cities and have a lot of business interests riding on them in terms of major industries and software firms. Hundreds of passengers jet between the two cities on a daily basis. In addition, passengers also use Mumbai as a hub for their onward travel to various destinations across the globe, Nalin said, adding reintroduction of the service is imperative to the interests of all these stakeholders.
