41 flights in Delhi, 27 in Bengaluru delayed due to fog

New Delhi: At least 41 flights were scheduled to be delayed between 6:00 am and 12:00 am today at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi due to dense fog.
Air pollution across the city however decreased on account of rain with PM 2.5 levels in Anand Vihar reducing to 285 this morning as compared to 544 on Saturday morning. In Mundka area, PM 2.5 readings were recorded at 321 while the previous morning it was 509.
Fog in the city made driving vehicles difficult as visibility was extremely low.
In Bengaluru, 27 flights were scheduled to be delayed between 6:00 am and 12:00 am at Kempegowda International Airport because of fog.
A Singapore-Bengaluru flight and a Goa-Bengaluru flight has been diverted to Chennai due to fog at the Bengaluru airport.
Air Quality Index of three areas in Bengaluru had reached unhealthy levels. In Silk Board area, PM 2.5 reading was 152 this morning. In BTM area, PM 2.5 reading touched 156 and in Jayanagar Fifth Block the reading was 151.
The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said on December 6 that the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is fully prepared to handle flight operations during dense fog.
