Air India to consider demand for late night flights

Visakhapatnam: Representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association (APATA) met Air India Director (Commercial) and Board Member Capt. Amitab Singh in Mumbai along with Daggubati Purandeswari, Independent Director, Air India on Monday to seek introduction of late night flights from the city to Mumbai and Delhi.

The representatives said late night flights to these destinations were important to facilitate international travellers from Visakhapatnam to flights to various destinations across the world. The representatives also sought an increase in the quota of seats for the Visakhapatnam – Dubai flight (via Hyderabad) as the quota is limited to 50 seats.

APATA president Kumar Raja and vice-presidents O. Naresh Kumar and D.S. Varma said in a statement that Capt. Amitab Singh agreed to consider the proposal of operating late night flights to Mumbai and Delhi and also agreed to consider increasing the frequency of flights to Port Blair and an increase in quota of seats on the Dubai flight.
