GoAir has announced new direct flights to Muscat and Abu Dhabi from the Kannur International Airport from February 28 and March 1 respectively.
The announcement was posted on the website of the airline company on Tuesday.
As per the flight schedule released by the GoAir, it will operate direct services from Kannur to Abu Dhabi on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The fares start at Rs. 6,099.
The services from Abu Dhabi to Kannur are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and the starting fare is Rs. 7,999.
From March 31 to October 26, the airline’s Abu Dhabi-Kannur services will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
GoAir will also operate services three days a week in the Kannur-Muscat route. The Kannur-Muscat flight services will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The opening fares start at Rs. 4,999. Its Muscat-Kannur services are on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The fares start at ₹5,299.
GoAir already operates domestic services from Kannur to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.
With the announcement of GoAir’s flight services in the Abu Dhabi-Kannur and Muscat-Kannur routes, the fares saw steep decline which will be a relief for people from the region working in the Gulf countries.
The fares of the Air India Express in the Kannur-Abu Dhabi route reached as high as Rs. 30,000 forcing passengers from north Malabar region to opt for Kozhikode or Kochi airports.
