World's fastest growing airlines: Two Indian companies makes it to top 10

Thai Lion Air has emerged as the world's fastest growing airline in 2018, according to a research done by Routesonline. Two Indian companies have also made it to top 10 in a list that was formed after the route information provider used flight data from OAG to judge capacity for 2018 compared to 2017. All of the top 100 airlines had more than 1 million available seats every month during 2018. Here is the full list:
1. Thai Lion Air
Thai Lion Air, an associate company of Indonesia Lion Air, bagged 1st place. The airline was responsible for last year’s worst air disaster – grew its capacity by 40.7 per cent in 2018, carrying more than 13.5 million passengers during the year.
2. Vietjet
In second place was Vietjet, Vietnam’s second-largest airline, which grew capacity by 27.1 per cent with more than 20 million passengers.
3. Jet2
UK carrier Jet2, which carried more than 13 million passengers last year, had a capacity spike of 26.7 per cent in 2018, putting it in third place.
4. Go Air
4th place was grabbed by the Indian airline company, Go Air which increased its capacity in 2018 to 14,720,400 (24.7%).
5. Indigo Airlines
IndiGo airlines stood 5th, another Indian aviation company has increased its air capacity to 74,570,054 (24.3%) in the year 2018.
6. Spring Airlines
Spring Airlines remained 6th as it took a jump of 21.5 per cent in its capacity in 2018 to 22,518,540.
7. Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines is the seventh with 2018 capacity increment to 54,574,295 (20.9%).
8. Citilink Indonesia
Citilink Indonesia bagged 8th place to increase its capacity in 2018 by 20.3 % at 18,255,600.
9. Eurowings
9th place was fetched by Eurowings, as it surged its 2018 capacity to 36,731,238 (18.5%).
10. Frontier Airlines
The last in the top 10 list was Frontier Airlines with over 18 per cent jump in capacity 2018 at 23,412,340.
