Kannur: Customs officials on Monday seized 750 grams of gold metals, valued about Rs 25 lakh from a passenger, who arrived from Riyadh, in Air India flight in the morning at Kannur International Airport.
Customs officials said that they arrested Jamsheer of Thamarassery in Kozhikode district. The gold metals were kept inside a bag as concealed inside the skating shoes. This is the second gold seizure at Kannur International Airport within a span of one month, after the commercial inauguration on December 9, 2018.
On December 26, Customs seized two kilo of gold, valued about Rs 50 lakhs from a passenger
Muhammed Shan of Pinarayi, who arrived from Abu Dhabi.
