Good news for Sai Baba devotees: SpiceJet begins 10 special air services to Shirdi

To reduce travel time for devotees to Shirdi, SpiceJet Airlines has started its services for Shirdi from across 10 places in the country. A total of 20 aircraft will arrive and depart from the Shirdi airport. It has also started flights from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bangalore and the flight from Chennai to Shirdi will start from January 10.
SpiceJet started 78 seated-flight services from the major cities of the country. On the very first day, these services were availed by about 1,000 pilgrims. One additional fight will also be started for Hyderabad each week on Tuesdays and Sundays. Also, night-time operations at the Shirdi airport will start soon as well. In the next few months, the facility of landing at night at the Shirdi airport will begin. After that the number of aircraft can be increased. Earlier, passengers were required to travel to Mumbai and Pune for five to seven hours and then travel to Shirdi.
On 1 October 2017, the airport was inaugurated by President of India Ramnath Kovind at Shirdi. At that time the 'Air Alliance' Company had started service from Hyderabad and Mumbai. Later, another flight was started from Hyderabad. After that, Delhi-Shirdi was started by SpiceJet for a year. Now it has added four more flights. SpiceJet has started the service at Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Bangalore. This service will connect Jaipur - Shirdi - Ahmedabad.
