Jharkhand CM to perform ground breaking ceremony of airport at Dhalbhumgarh on Jan 24

Jamshedpur: CM Raghubar Das will perform ground breaking ceremony of for the proposed domestic airport at Dhalbhumgarh in Ghatshila sub-division on January 24 at 3 PM. On the occasion, the State Government will also sign a MoU with the Airport Authority of India. In view of the programme, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and SSP Anoop Birtharay inspected the site and review the preparations for the function.

Kumar said that construction of airport will pave way for development at Dhalbhumgarh. Along with the Kolhan, people of West Bengal and Odisha will also benefit from this airport.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials and state civil aviation unit officials had visited the World War-II era abandoned airstrip in Dhalbhumgarh in 2017 and after a technical survey for the proposed airport, out of which 3.28 acres is raiyyati land, 1.28 acres is uninhabited government land and the remaining forest land.
