Hyderabad: More than 100 passengers bound to Shirdi were stranded for a few hours on Tuesday when their flights were diverted to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here due to foggy weather conditions in Shirdi.
A SpiceJet flight from Bhopal to Shirdi was diverted to RGIA because of inclement weather conditions. The aircraft later departed for Shirdi around 3.15 pm.
Another SpiceJet flight from RGIA to Shirdi also returned to Shamshabad because of low visibility problem and later took off around 4.10 pm.
An Alliance Air flight was taxied even before it took off from the RGIA owing to similar climatic conditions in Shirdi, according to sources.
