Jaipur: Following intimation by the immigration authorities and CISF, 12 passengers who came to Jaipur from Kuala Lumpur, were detained and later arrested by Sanganer police for allegedly having fake stamps on their passports during immigration check. Police have registered a case and will start investigation.
According to police, the 12 passengers had come to Jaipur on Saturday morning from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “During the immigration check, it was found that the12 passengers had affixed forged immigration arrival stamp, which is of January 6, 2018 of New Delhi and a departure stamp dated January 27, 2019 from New Delhi on one of the pages of their passports. Since the immigration system did not show the travel records of the passengers, they appeared to be forged, affixed stamps,” said an officer of the Jaipur airport.
Authorities said that prima facie, it appears that all these passengers did not pass the immigration at the Delhi airport during their previous visits, and thus police was intimated. “We have arrested them on charges of forging their arrival and departures on the passport. We will also probe the cheating angle into the case,” said Lakhan Singh, circle inspector, Sanganer police station.
