Bengaluru: A passenger, who attempted to slip away with over Rs 12 lakh worth of gold biscuits in the inner pockets of his jeans, was caught at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Saturday.
The suspect, an Indian passport holder, had travelled on the Gulf Air flight GF 282 from Bahrain to Bengaluru. The aircraft landed at KIA at 3.45am on Saturday and the officials zeroed in on the man as he was behaving in a suspicious manner. Three gold biscuits weighting 349.9 grams were found inside the interior pockets of his jeans.
He was booked for carrying excessive gold more than the prescribed weight fixed to be brought in from a foreign country into India.
