Foreign currency seized at Cochin Airport

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Sunday seized foreign
currency worth around Rs 11,50,000 from a foreign national at Cochin airport.
During frisking at Security Hold Area (SHA) of Cochin Airport, a CISF personnel detected
16,378 US Dollars worth Rs 11,50,000 from a foreign passenger concealed inside his trouser
pocket, an official statement said here today.
“The passenger, later identified as Sadeq Abdulla Mahadi Abdulla Hasan, a Bahrain national
who was supposed to travel from Kochi (Cochin) to Muscat by Oman Airways and on enquiry, he
could not produce any valid document,” CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh told UNI.
Later, the said foreign passenger along-with the recovered foreign currency was handed over to
customs officials for further investigations.
