New Delhi: With an eye to enhance the passenger experience, the national carrier Air India has decided to jazz up its food menu. The changed menu as the management believes will help them make a better connect with the passengers.
"Quality food, leg space and extra baggage are unique qualities of Air India. That's why on the basis of feedback of the crew we changed the menu. This time the menu is more indigenous," said Air India PRO Dhananjay Kumar.
Air India annually spends crores on domestic and international sector on catering services.
The changed menu will be implemented from April 1 on international sectors. In the domestic sector Air India has already started rolling the new menu.
But while on one hand the national carrier is on a revamp exercise, many airline insiders have told India Today a startling story.
Airline insiders say that though the change of menu is a welcome step, the practice of carrying meals for return flights for long hauls isn't healthy. It is learnt that in order to save costs, the national carrier carries food even for the return flight thus putting a big question mark on the freshness of the food.
