Bhubaneswar: The Air Intelligence unit of Customs has seized over 700 gram of gold worth Rs 24 lakh from a lady passenger at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIAP).
BPIAP sources said acting on an tip off officers of Air intelligence unit intercepted the lady passenger of Indian Origin at the Airport yesterday.
The lady hailing from Maharashtra had arrived at Bhubaneswar from Dubai via Delhi by Air India Flight.
During personal search of the lady three capsules wrapped with black adhesives tape containing five pieces of gold bar of foreign origin was found concealed in her rectum. The total weight of the gold was 707.670 gram having purity of 99.9 per cent and valued at Rs 23,89,799, BPIAP sources said.
