Youths duped on the pretext of job at airport

Ahmedabad: An unidentified suspect was booked recently for duping youths on the pretext of imparting them job training followed by a placement at the airport.

Carrying out a preliminary probe into the complaint lodged by one of the victims, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) forwarded the case to Satara area police station, following which an offence for cheating and criminal breach of trust was registered.

Investigation officer and PSI Sagar Kote said that the suspect had floated an advertisement in some of the local dailies, claiming about job openings under the Airport Authorities of India.

A few youths who were looking for a job contacted the given number, following which the suspect called them to the city. During the interaction, the suspect informed them that they will have to undergo a training before being recruited by the airport authority.
