New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday detected
5000 US dollars worth around Rs 3.51 lakh at Cochin airport, the officials said here.
On May 15, around 0315 hrs, during pre-embarkation security check at Security Hold Area of Cochin Airport, CISF personnel detected 5,000 US dollars from the pocket of a passenger namely Ponnusamy/Doraisamy who was traveling to Kuwait by a scheduled flight.
On inquiry, he could not produce any valid document for possession of this foreign currency. “Later, the said passenger along-with recovered foreign currency has been handed over to Custom Officials for further legal action in the matter”, the CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh told UNI.
