Fly to Hisar in ’24

Chandigarh: The integrated aviation hub in Hisar would be established in a phased manner and an airstrip of 10,000 feet would be ready by January 2021, where A-320 and Boeing-737 airplanes can land. Apart from this, the Hisar airport would be completely ready by 2024 for operation. Also, a flying school would be established in Hisar, which would have the provision of imparting training to about 100 pilots.

This was disclosed at a meeting of the Civil Aviation Department, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here on Wednesday.
It was informed that by 2021, concerted efforts would be made to provide MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility to big airplanes, along with parking facility, in Hisar. The airport would also be established as an alternate so that flights from the busy Delhi airport could use this airport. There would also be parking facility so that airplanes could be parked here in case of shortage of parking space at Delhi.

It was informed that a special-purpose vehicle would be established in Haryana for management and expansion of airports and other activities, under which Haryana State Aviation Infrastructure Company Limited would be constituted, for which the Chief Minister gave in principle approval. It was informed that in view of drone activities, a drone academy would be established in Bachhodin Narnaul.
