Indore: Fourth aerobridge to be built at city airport

Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport has received sanction to build the fourth aerobridge. It will be ready in one year. At present, two aero bridges are functional and third one is under construction. Airport director Aryama Sanyal said Airport Authority of India has approved the proposal of fourth aero bridge at city airport and approval letter has been received. Sharing the future plan, she said next step is to take permission from Directorate General of Civil Aviation Safety (DGCA). As soon as the permission will be received, the tender for the construction of aero bridge will be floated.
After completion of fourth aero bridge, two bridges will be used for connecting the domestic flights while another two will be used for international flights, which are likely to start soon. The aerobridge is also known as a jet bridge or termed as jet way, skybridge. Its formal name is passenger boarding bridge. It is an enclosed, movable, connector, which commonly extends from an airport terminal gate to an airplane.  It allows passengers to board and disembark without moving outside. The number of availability of aerobridges at an airport shows more number of passengers and airplane traffic and upscale airport.
