Kolkata: A man was arrested at Kolkata airport on Thursday morning for his alleged attempt to smuggle $120,000 (Rs 84 lakh).
The accused was identified as Manoj Kumar, a resident of Punajb. He was about to board AirAsia Thai flight FD 121 to Bangkok when the currency was found in his baggage.
On being questioned by the cops about the foreign currency, Kumar could not explain the matter to them.
As he could not substantiate the reason behind carrying such huge amount of foreign currency, which was not declared to the Customs, the police arrested him. TNN
