Air Tanzania lands on Indian soil after 20 years

Nearly after two decades, Air Tanzania has launched flights to Mumbai, India and will be operating three times a week initially.

Air Tanzania is currently providing direct flights along this route and welcomed 147 passengers on board. The first flight, a B787-8 Dreamliner took off on July 18 from Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) to Mumbai. This is the airlines' first commercial flight to India.

The direct, non-stop flights between India and Tanzania is expected to boost trade and tourism between the two countries.

Dar es Salaam, the largest city of Tanzania is on the verge of becoming a popular tourist destination. It displays a rich mix of architectural styles incorporating British, German and other Asian traditions.
