Daily flight movement at Indore airport may double from October

Indore: There’s some good news for flyers. Daily flight movement at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is expected to increase to 112 with more airlines reserving slots under a proposed winter schedule for 2019.
The schedule which has been announced recently by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will become effective from October 27 to March 28, 2020. However, the schedule is yet to be approved.
Official sources said, additional flights on Delhi and Ahmedabad routes as well as on Shirdi, Jaipur, and Lucknow have been proposed under domestic winter schedule released by the DGCA.
The number of flights to Delhi is expected to increase to 14 as compared to the existing 8 departures in a day. Go Air and Vistara also have plans to introduce flights on this route. For Ahmedabad as well, the number will increase to 7 departures in a day from one flight being operated by TruJet at present.
Two airlines including Vistara and GoAir are expected to start flight operations from Indore under this proposed schedule, and connectivity to three new cities including Jaipur, Lucknow and Shirdi is expected under the same.
