Vasco: Goa customs officials apprehended three female passengers from Tajikistan carrying 1,787 gram of assorted gold jewellery, worth over Rs 56 lakh at Dabolim airport on Sunday.
“The three female Tajikistan nationals arrived from Dushanbe, via Dubai, on an Air India flight,” customs officials said. The gold items, concealed in their inner wear, hand luggage and purses, was recovered and seized.
Officials said the gold has been seized under provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
