Bhopal: The runaway schoolboy, who was located after taking a viral selfie with actress Sara Ali Khan, has been found in Pune. Ajay Singh’s parents brought him back on Tuesday.
“Ajay had gone to Mumbai, then Goa and some other places. He reached home yesterday. We are glad that hs is safe,” his father Swaroop Singh told TOI on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old was reported missing from Raisen on August 17. He was not seen or heard till August 22 when some Bollywood websites ran a video of a fan seeking a selfie with Sara Ali Khan at Mumbai airport. It went viral. A cousin of Ajay saw it and ran to Swaroop’s sweetshop to show him the video.
The clip shows Ajay bumping into Sara at Mumbai airport in his eagerness to take a selfie. She is startled at first but obliges him for a photo immediately afterward.
The family was relieved that he is at least safe. Police had tracked his debit card usage but were unable to locate him because he had bought a new cellphone. “After seeing the video, we informed his maternal grandfather, who lives in Mumbai. He contacted everyone he knew and we found Ajay in Pune. We brought him back,” Swaroop told TOI.
