Ahmedabad: Among several international airports, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad bagged three ACI-ASQ awards in the category of airports handling 5-15 million passengers per annum. The award was received by SVPI airport director, Manoj Gangal, along with the board member – operations, Airports Authority of India (AAI) at an elaborate ceremony in Bali, Indonesia, last week.
The city airport was found to be the best in customer service, environment and ambience and infrastructure and facilitation.
Airport Council of India (ACI), an independent agency which benchmarks international airports, evaluates Airport Service Quality (ASQ) through a survey based on some 37 key performance indicators. These include airport facilities, check-in, food and beverage, access and security arrival among others.
