Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Bhubaneswar, received the Best Airport Award from Airport Council International (ACI) in 2 to 5 million passengers categories for 2018.
The award was presented at ACI’s Customer Experience Global Summit held in Bali, Indonesia recently. BPIA Director Suresh Chandra Hota received the award at the function.
According to sources, Biju Patnaik International Airport is among the three airports from India which have been awarded under the 2 – 5 million passengers category. The two other airports are Chandigarh Airport, Chandigarh and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore.
Similarly, Cochin International Airport has been selected under 5 – 15 million passengers category while Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore has been selected under 25 – 40 million passengers category. Besides, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai and Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi have been awarded under over 40 million passengers category.
