Punjab Unaided Colleges Association urges civil aviation department to start flights from Chandigarh to Patna and Ranchi for students

Chandigarh: For the convenience of the students of Bihar and Jharkhand studying near the Chandigarh periphery, the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) urged direct flight from Chandigarh International Airport to Patna and Ranchi.
President of PUCA Dr Anshu Kataria and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges said, “ The Chandigarh and Punjab region is becoming the education hub of the country due to its peaceful environment. Around 10,000 to 15,000 students from various parts of Bihar and Jharkhand are studying in various colleges of Chandigarh or in its periphery.”
Kataria further added that keeping the interest of thousands of students studying in the Chandigarh region in mind, Ministry of Civil Aviation of Government of India should start direct flights from Chandigarh to Patna, Ranchi under the Udan (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme which would help not only the students but also in expansion of business, social, political, tourism commodities in the state.
Senior Vice President of PUCA Amit Sharma said, “In the last few years, the students from Bihar have stopped going to southern states because of contrition on the Bihar students by some local groups in cities like Mumbai, Pune. Hence, the students are preferring Chandigarh being the safest and crime-free city for their higher education.”
