Murals based on Gandhian values at Lohegaon Airport

Pune: Murals depicting the ethics and values of Mahatma Gandhi have been installed at the Pune airport to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The murals have been designed by 25 students and professors from MKSSS's Dr Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (BNCA) to create the beautiful pieces of art.
A statement issued by the college said that, the idea was initiated and conceptualized by Anjani Kumari from Airport Authority of India and Amruta Barve, assistant professor at BNCA with an aim of having permanent murals which could inspire travellers.
The project was undertaken by the students under the guidance of their teachers. Anurag Kashyap, principal, BNCA said in the statement that, "Truth, unity, peace, simplicity, non- violence and hard work were the Gandhian values with which the students should connect and somethings which we try to imbibe in the students at BNCA. We always thrive to give back to the society through such activities. We are proud of the creative efforts put in by our students and professors for this art".
