Tirupati: A meeting of the airport advisory committee for Tirupati Airport at Renigunta was held as per the guidelines of the ministry of civil aviation in Tirupati on Friday.
Officials from the Airports Authority of India, committee chairman and Tirupati MP B Durga Prasad Rao, Srikalahasti legislator B Madhusudhan Reddy, district collector Narayana Bharat Gupta and other officials reviewed the progress of various development works under execution at Tirupati Airport.
Chairman of the airport advisory committee B Durga Prasad Rao said that Tirupati Airport had registered a 47 per cent passenger growth over the last three years, on par with some of the best airports in the country. “Runway expansion works are being executed. Officials are also addressing issues like land acquisition and boundary wall construction,” he said.
