Customs officers on Tuesday seized gold weighing 483.57 grams from a passenger, who arrived from Dubai by an Air India flight, at Mangalore International Airport.
Acting on a tip-off, customs officials detained the passenger and found 24-carat gold worth Rs 18.47 lakh in the form of a paste.
The gold was found stashed in three packets in the passenger’s rectum.
