Patna: Altogether nine flights will be withdrawn from the Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport, owing to poor visibility conditions during the winter season. A revised winter schedule, which was approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and released by the airport on Tuesday, will be made effective from December 1.
According to airport officials, IndiGo, GoAir and SpiceJet have proposed to withdraw three, four and two flights, respectively, on different routes because of the onset of winter conditions. Flights will operate only between 9am and 9pm.
GoAir executives claimed that altogether eight of their flights would operate in the winter season.
“The withdrawn flights have temporarily been suspended till March-end. These include G8-143/273 (Delhi-Patna-Bengaluru route), G8-135/136 and G8-147/150 (Patna-Delhi route) and G8-274/144 (Bengaluru-Patna-Delhi route),” an executive said.
As per the winter schedule, IndiGo’s 6E-494/6367 and 6E-2039/2041 (Patna-Delhi route) and 6E-688/689 (Kolkata-Patna-Kolkata route) and SpiceJet’s SG-6425 (Patna-Mumbai route) and SG-6425 (Patna-Kolkata route) will remain suspended in the winter season. The city airport will now handle 42 arrivals and 42 departures every day.
