Kalaburagi comes closer to Bengaluru

Air connectivity between Bengaluru and the North Eastern region of Karnataka is all set to take off with the launch of two flights in a span of ten days.
 The launch of Star Air commercial operations between Bengaluru and Kalaburagi on Friday and Trujet’s flight Bengaluru-Bidar flight starting December 1 apart from connecting the state capital with these two Tier II cities is also expected to spur economic growth in the region.
 Star Air will be operating three times a week (Sunday, Monday and Friday) connecting the two cities with fares starting at Rs 2,850. The airline which will be operating the Embraer 145 on the route will depart from Bengaluru at 12.30 pm and arrive at Kalburgi at 1.35 pm. From Kalburagi the flight will depart at 1.55pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2.55 pm.
Star Air said that as it operates under the UDAN scheme 50% of the seats will be available at very reasonable rates.
 “This service will further cement our position in the aviation industry and help us to move at a much greater pace to further our aim to connect the unconnected with affordable and qualitative aviation services,” Shrenik Ghodawat, MD, Star Air said.
