Kochi: In a major gold haul at the Nedumbassery Airport, the air customs intelligence seized five and a half kilograms of gold worth Rs two crore from two natives of Andhra Pradesh.
In a search conducted by the air customs intelligence following secret information, the gold was found hidden in between the dumbbells used for exercise. The two reached Nedumbassery Wednesday morning from Kuwait.The air customs said they are examining in detail whether they are gold smugglers. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized two kilograms of gold from another passenger, a native of Mumbai.Three kilograms of gold were seized from a native of Malappuram the other day.
