Pragya Thakur on SpiceJet row: My seat didn't have emergency written on it

Bhopal: Blamed for a flight delay that left passengers fuming this weekend, BJP MP Pragya Thakur is pointing fingers at the airline, SpiceJet.

The carrier said Thakur, the MP from Bhopal, held up a Delhi-Bhopal flight by refusing to move from an emergency row, where seats aren't allocated to passengers in wheelchairs.

Customers asked SpiceJet's staff to offload her, and she eventually relented and moved, the airline said.

Thakur, on her part, says she paid extra for the seat she chose, and that it didn't have 'emergency' written anywhere.

She said she asked the staff on the plane to show her a rulebook, but they didn't have it. (SpiceJet, on the other had, has said she was shown a safety instruction document when she asked to see it.)

Pragya Thakur said she had submitted a written complaint about the incident.
SpiceJet said its staff didn't know Pragya Thakur was a wheelchair passenger.

Thakur's response: she was in a wheelchair when she took her boarding pass, so didn't they see her then?

A video shows Pragya Thakur seated in the plane and arguing with angry passengers, one of whom told her that her job as a representative of the people wasn't to trouble them.
