Pune: The Shirdi airport will be fully operational from Monday, officials said.
“IndiGo, which had shifted its operations to Aurangabad, will resume its flights from Shirdi from Monday onwards. SpiceJet has already started its operations from last week,” an airport official told TOI.
IndiGo has direct connections to Shirdi from Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The airport was closed for all flight movements on November 14 due to low visibility and had resumed temporary operations on December 11 with SpiceJet resuming flights.
“Following the closure of the airport, both the airlines had shifted Shirdi operations to Aurangabad. Now that things have returned to normal, we hope the flight operations will continue,” the official added.
SpiceJet has direct connections to and from Shirdi to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The airport, which became functional two years back, was among the fastest growing airports in Maharashtra.
