Coronavirus: Man Aboard Bangkok-Delhi Flight Isolated In Delhi; 3 Positive In Kolkata

New Delhi: A passenger aboard a SpiceJet flight from Bangkok to Delhi is suspected to have coronavirus and was quarantined after landing in Delhi on Thursday.

The passenger was seated on SpiceJet flight SG-88 operating between Bangkok and Delhi. He was seated on seat number 31F and was sitting alone in that row.
The suspected case of coronavirus has been quarantined by Airport Health Organisation (APHO), said a Spicejet spokesperson.

Two more passengers were tested positive for the novel coronavirus at Kolkata airport, confirmed Airports Authority of India. A total of three passengers were tested positive for the deadly virus in Kolkata as of now.

Both the passengers were admitted to Beliaghata ID Hospital, Kaushik Bhattacharjee, the Director of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport told PTI.

This came a day after two Indians tested positive on a cruise ship off the coast of Japan.

The Centre has advised screening of passengers at 21 airports, international seaports and border crossings across the country. According to the latest available official data, more than 1,700 flights and over 1.80 lakh passengers have been screened across airports so far.
Last week, a Chinese national was suspected to be infected after he fell ill onboard an Air India flight. Upon arrival at Pune airport, he was taken to a local hospital.
