Nursing room at Chennai airport has no place to change kids' diapers

Chennai: Chennai airport has set up nursing rooms for young mothers at domestic and international terminals but women passengers say that the rooms are ill-equipped to handle children.
The nursing room which is currently functioning has an attached toilet and plush sofas and a flight information display board to alert passengers about boarding time But it does not have an attendant. The toilet that is attached to the facility does not have a diaper changing board.
Passengers say there should be a facility to change diapers in a nursing room. Ranjani A, a passenger who flew to Bengaluru on Sunday, said she had difficulty to find a space to change her child's diaper. "Its a big room with sofas but not one changing board. Are we supposed to put the child on the floor and change diapers," she posted on social media. "It is clear that no thought had gone into creating this nursing room. The airport needs to have one so they have one," she added.
