New airline to start ops from Indore next month

Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport is all set to become the base of operations of a new regional airline next month. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given clearance to the airline for its maintenance set-up.

Airport officials said that the airline was in process to set up its maintenance facility at Indore and a team from DGCA recently conducted an inspection.

“The airline has got clearance from DGCA for its maintenance set up in Indore. The airline’s first aircraft has already been imported from Australia, and is expected to arrive Indore next week,” airport director Aryama Sanyal told TOI.

Sanyal further claimed that this is for the first time when a regional airline is going to make Indore its base of operations, instead of going for metros like Delhi or Mumbai. “The airline will start its operations from Nov 15,” she said, adding that the airline has also been allotted night parking space in Indore to accommodate for two aircrafts.
