Chennai air customs observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Chennai: Chennai air customs observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 2. The theme was “Vigilant India, Prosperous India.”

A valedictory function was organised at New Custom House in Meenambakkam on Monday. Dr S Armstrong, head of the department of English in Madras University, was the chief guest. He addressed departmental officers and gave a message to be vigilant and maintain high integrity in professional as well as personal life.

Rajan Chaudhary, commissioner of customs, airport, asked officers to be diligent and sincere in performing their duties and maintain absolute integrity at all times. Prizes were also distributed to winners of various competitions.

Vigilance week commenced on October 27 with a pledge being administered by commissioners of customs, airport, and N Padmasri, commissioners of customs, air cargo, to departmental officers and staff.
