CISF detects 12,900 USD at Delhi Airport

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday said that it has detected USD 12,900, equivalent to Rs 9.5 lakh, concealed in the lower cavity of a hand bag of an Indian passenger at Indira Gandhi International Airport here, who was about to fly to Dubai. 
 According to CISF, at around 0705 hrs on October 2, the Force's surveillance and intelligence staff, on the basis of behaviour detection, noticed the suspicious activities of a passenger, who was later identified as Haseen, in check-in area of the airport. 
 'He was kept under close watch and the message was passed to the CISF personnel deployed in Security Hold Area and during Pre-Embarkation Security Check in SHA of Terminal-3, the CISF personnel detected 12,900 USD worth around Rs 9.5 lakh, concealed in lower cavity of his hand bag. On enquiry, he could not produce any valid document,' the CISF officials said. Later, the passenger was handed over to the Customs department for further legal action, along with the currency.
