Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday clarified that flights from India to the UK will restart from January 6 while air travel from Britain to India will be allowed from January 8 onwards. As many as 30 flights will operate every week -- 15 each by Indian and UK carriers. This schedule is valid till January 23, the minister added. Flights will be allowed from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad only till January 23.

Here's is the flight schedule:

To recall, India had suspended all passenger flights connecting the two countries from December 23 to January 7. The restrictions were placed after the discovery of cases pertaining to the new Covid-19 variant in India. The mutated virus, which first surfaced in southeast England, is believed to be even more contagious than SARS-CoV-2 version found earlier.
