Bihar Police forms SIT to probe Indigo executive’s murder

Bihar police headquarters on Wednesday set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe into the murder of a 38-year-old Indigo airlines executive, who was shot dead outside his residence late Tuesday evening.

Rupesh Singh was shot by unidentified assailants outside his residence when he had just returned from Patna airport in his car.

A senior police officer at the police headquarters said: “We have got a 20-second footage that shows some criminals fleeing. Some other CCTV cameras along the possible escape route are not working. We are talking to more people to get some lead.”

Singh was part of a committee at Patna airport to recommend safety measures.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav tweeted, “If Nitish Kumar is not able to control law and order, he should resign.”

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur said that the state government must hand over the case to the CBI if the police fails to solve it within five days.
