Lucknow-bound flight cancelled, reinstated

Ahmedabad: To fly or not to fly? What looks akin to the Shakespearean dilemma perhaps defined the plight of Lucknow-bound passengers who were scheduled to travel early on Thursday morning from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad. Thanks to operational constraints, the said flight, operated by a private airline, GoAir, was initially cancelled and later reinstated, albeit with a delay of 14 hours!

Awell-placed source said, “The flight was initially cancelled due to operational constraints however, later it was reinstated. Passengers have been duly informed of the developments and schedule of the movement of the said flight.”

It appears operational constraints are being increasingly faced by airlines as 17 other flight departures were impacted on Thursday. These include flights to Ranchi, Dubai, Nagpur, Mumbai,Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Varanasi, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Kanpur and Goa,among others.

That apart, flights to Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Darbhanga and Jaipur were cancelled due to similar reasons.
