10 flights, 2 trains cancelled to and from Indore airport

Indore: Ten flights scheduled to operate to and from Indore airport on Thursday were cancelled for the third consecutive day owing to declining passengers count. This included Vistara’s morning flight to Delhi, and IndiGo’s afternoon flights to Delhi and Hyderabad.

FlyBig’s Ahmedabad and Raipur flights were also cancelled both ways. “Declining passengers count due to the ongoing Covid-19 has been a reason behind frequent cancellations of flights to and from Indore,” airport officials said. They said that daily movement of flights has gone down to 24, reducing connectivity to different cities.

At present, a few flights operate on routes like from Indore to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kishangarh, Ahmedabad etc. “We are still having a number of regular flights to different sectors and routes, and operating them while keeping all safety and precautionary measures in place to mitigate the risk of spread of Covid-19,” said airport director Aryama Sanyal.

2 trains cancelled: Two long distance trains operating to and from Indore railway station were cancelled on Thursday. Indore-Daund special trains will remain cancelled from May 7 and Indore-Kochuveli special will be cancelled from May 11.
