After the countries’ border restrictions, Air India will begin flying to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from Chennai. Travelers are permitted to enter Sri Lanka; however, both India and Sri Lanka have strict entry requirements. Visitors from India must show proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours before departure. The travelers must then take a COVID-19 PCR test once more when they arrive.
Upon entering Sri Lanka, visitors from India must undergo a 14-day quarantine period. On arrival in Sri Lanka, all visitors must stay in Certified Safe and Secure L1 hotels for up to 14 days. Travelers who test negative for COVID-19 on arrival are able to remain at any level 1 hotel.
Travelers from Sri Lanka to India must also submit a negative RT-PCR test performed 72 hours prior to departure, while fully vaccinated tourists with authorized vaccination certificates are exempt from quarantine.
Air India has also introduced new flights between Indian cities and Malé, Maldives, beginning on July 28. The airline launched a twice-weekly service from Delhi to Male, the Maldives’ capital, every Wednesday and Saturday. Starting July 29, 2021, Male will be served by flights from Thiruvananthapuram on Mondays and Thursdays.
Flights between India and Kuala Lumpur have also been announced for August 2021 by Air India. Trichy, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Chennai would be among the Indian cities served by the airline. These flights are currently accepting reservations.
Air India has stated that it will resume three times weekly flights from Delhi to Kathmandu, Nepal, on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. The majority of traffic is for repatriation or business trips.
