Chennai: The arrival and departure of eight flights, both domestic and International, from Chennai airport were cancelled today due to heavy rain and poor visibility.
Airport sources said while two Indigo flights each to and from Chennai to Madurai and Trichy, scheduled for this evening were cancelled.
Similarly, the Chennai-Mumbai Indigo Airlines scheduled to depart tonight and the Mumbai-Chennai flight scheduled to arrive here early tomorrow morning were also cancelled.
The arrival and departure of the Sharjah-Chennai Air Arabia flight was also cancelled. The sources said more flights might be cancelled if the situation did not improve.
