Indigo flight to Tirupati with 70 passengers on board diverted to Bengaluru due to technical snag

Tirupati: Indigo flight 6E 7265 from Rajahmundry to Tirupati with 70 passengers including YSRC MLA RK Roja and former state finance minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu, was diverted to the Bengaluru airport, following a technical snag in the aircraft on Wednesday.

While the airliner is yet to issue an official clarification about why the aircraft had to be diverted to Bengaluru without making a landing at the Renigunta airport near Tirupati as scheduled, YSRC MLA RK Roja slammed Indigo airlines for risking the lives of 70 passengers on board without giving them proper clarification.

In a selfie video released by MLA RK Roja to the media, she alleges that the passengers struggled inside the aircraft for almost five long hours and none of the flight attendants bothered to give the passengers any clarification about what actually happened to the aircraft which had to be diverted to Bengaluru without making a landing at the Renigunta airport.

"I recently underwent a surgery and can't sit for long and there were many elderly persons in the flight who were suffocated in the flight sitting for hours together. When we asked the attendants to open the aircraft doors they asked every passenger to pay Rs 5,000 to open the door. In a bizarre manner they told us that if we don't pay Rs 5,000 we will not be let out of the aircraft for security reasons. I will file a defamation case against the airliner and will drag them to court," lamented the actress turned politician.
